DGIT 2026

The DIVE Global Immersions 1-Term Programme (DGIT) 2026 is a 14-week immersive customized program for innovation and entrepreneurship from the perspective of design, organized and sponsored by the International Institute of Design (IDI) of Zhejiang University, which welcomes students from SUTD for study, exchange and practice.

  • Dual Mentorship from Zhejiang University-Startups.
  • Attend a customized course and receive a transcript from Zhejiang University that supports credit transfer.
  • Engage in innovation and entrepreneurship activities, closely interacting with startup teams to gain comprehensive insights into the process of technology incubation.
  • Rely on the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem to encourage trial and market testing, promoting product innovation and market adaptability.

Course: Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship + Design and Future (5 ZJU credits)

Stage 1. Design Thinking and Intelligent Entrepreneurship — Entrepreneurship Learning (2 weeks)

  • Class Arrangement: 8-4-4 sessions per week.
  • Instruction Modalities:
    • Offline lectures and workshops led by enterprise mentors.
    • Lectures by Enterprise CEO (6 sessions): Li Chenxiao, Yin Yehang, Chen Tianrun, Li Jingyuan, Tong Shitian, Lin Qunshu (final arrangement subject to change).
    • Online learning through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).
  • Practical Exposure: Visits to startup companies — DEEP Robotics, The One Art, Molar Intelligence, Merit Interactive, Ningbo XbotPark Robotics (final arrangement subject to change).

Stage 2. AI in China (1 day per week)

  • AI Guests: Zheng Gang, Qiu Yiwu, Zhu Mingming (final arrangement subject to change).

Chinese Cultural Experience Activities

  • Class Arrangement: Half a day to one day per week, about 8 sessions.
  • Content: Liangzhu Museum / China Academy of Art / Yunqi Town / Traditional Chinese calligraphy culture / etc.
  • Practical Exposure: Visits to museums and major technology companies in Hangzhou.

National Day Holiday (Golden Week)

No formal classes — seven-day public holiday break.

Stage 3. Intelligent Entrepreneurship (short week after National Day holiday)

  • Class Arrangement: 8-4-4 sessions per week. AI tool application training (1 day) + ZJU student startup teams share their venture projects (half day).
  • Instruction Modalities:
    • Offline lectures and workshops led by student peers.
    • Student exchange session between both institutions.

Stage 4. Mentor-Assigned Task

  • Form teams of 6–8–10 members to complete a proposal.
  • Mentorship Matching: Mutual selection between SUTD students and mentors (ZJU team to confirm mentor matching).

Chinese Cultural Experience Activities

  • Class Arrangement: Half a day to one day per week, about 8 sessions.
  • Content: Liangzhu Museum / China Academy of Art / Yunqi Town / Traditional Chinese calligraphy culture / etc.
  • Practical Exposure: Visits to museums and major technology companies in Hangzhou.

Stage 5. Entrepreneurship Internship (5 weeks)

  • Practical Exposure: Internship opportunities through partnerships with 4~5 companies.
  • Group Research Collaboration:
    • Group work to construct a research report on topics that arose.
    • Mid-term progress presentation (once per week).

Stage 6. Entrepreneurial Practice (5 weeks)

  • Practical Exposure: Self-directed projects under the guidance of enterprise mentors, with assistance from the course teacher and graduate assistants.
  • Instruction Modalities:
    • Practical guidance and connections into the ecosystem from industry mentors.
    • Academic support from course instructors and teaching assistants.
  • Mid-term progress presentation (once per week).

Stage 7. Entrepreneurship Mentoring

  • Half a day per week with enterprise mentors.

Stage 8. Final Presentation + Graduation Ceremony

  • Practical Exposure: Research report revision and finalization.
  • Graduation week: project presentation, award ceremony, and submission of research reports.
